Baker’s Porch (Portal de las Panaderas)
It is located in front of Central Park and still preserves its architectural features, silent witnesses of La Antigua Guatemala’s past.
It has several cafes and restaurants, one of them takes you inside a house whose architecture goes back to the Colonial era; there you can taste breakfasts, lunches, or dinners in the court next to the fountain. For delight of many foreigners, breakfasts are available any time during the day.

El Portal is a name that comes directly from its past, because during market days it was filled with women selling bread and during the night they spent the night in the halls, that is why it was also known as Merchandisers’ Porch.
