City Hall
It is located on 4ª Calle Oriente, across Central Park and next to the Cathedral. Its construction started around 1740 and it ended and was opened in 1743. The three year wait was worth it because a big celebration took place. It was designed by Diego de Porres.
It stood pretty well during the quakes of 1751 and 1773, since it has walls that are thicker than one meter. Its style reflects an apparent influence of constructions proper to Colonial Mexico.
It was restored in 1853 by the chief magistrate José María Palomo y Montúfar, and it has been preserved in excellent condition, even so that the two story building now houses the actual City Hall.

In the past it had a clock that was added around the 19th Century, but it was removed when the tower that held it was demolished.
Among its halls lies the structure in the shape of benches where you can comfortably enjoy the view of Central Park and the majestic Hunapu Volcano.
