Museum of Regional Clothes
It opens its doors a few steps away from the Ruins of the Convent of San Jerónimo and is an excellent choice if you want to take a souvenir or buy peacefully among a great variety of options, while you appreciate and get acquainted with indigenous clothing in Guatemala.
It has small sections where there are displays of typical outfits in peculiar mannequins with an interesting concept: a family group.
So, you can take a look at the typical outfits represented by a family: parents and children doing everyday activities. This introduces a pleasant way of showing them instead of displaying them in frames or glass cases.
Informative cards describe the region to which each outfit belongs, its meaning and the language of those who use it.

It has rooms in which a wide variety of tissues and fabrics are displayed in an appealing way. You can see shirts, pants, scarves, tabletops and decorative pieces.
On the back part of the museum you can watch how a weaver, with the use of threads, creates original designs on fabric.
Even though you can get fabric and souvenirs at the handcraft market, visible from the Alameda of Santa Lucia, close to the Monument to Rafael Landívar, the Indigenous Clothing Museum, House of Tissue, is a good roofed option.
