El Sitio Cultural Center

It is located on the corner of the 5ª Calle Poniente and 7ª Avenida Sur, in front of the San Agustin Church; it is a non-profit organization that has left a clear mark with its cultural promotion labour.

It started in 1993 when the Project was founded, guided from the beginning by the intentions it still has today: creating proposals, promoting and facilitating the means for disclosing and achieving cultural activities.

It has also become the headquarters for many of these activities and workshops in Antigua Guatemala, as well as a reference and support center for regional initiatives.

It generates a monthly agenda for diverse activities that are published on its bulletin board and disclosed on different media, promoting film screenings, video forums, and conferences, working in connection with the Ministry of Culture and Sports, and the Association for the Cultural Decentralization (ADESCA).

Its structure works for six programs: cultural, formational, educational, investigative, cultural promotion, and knowledge promotion. It owns a library, Mary Matheu, which is available for consultation with approximately five thousand titles.

For the filmic aspect, as well, it has a video archive that has approximately a thousand titles, among documentaries, classical, historical, independent, and children’s movies.
