Florencia ecological park, Sacatepequez | |

With only three years working as a natural reserve, Florencia Ecological Park is an effort to maintain the natural richness of Sacatepequez in the best conditions, and looking for options to use the biodiversity of the region.
Natural background to work outIt is common to see sport lovers in Florencia practicing soccer, volleyball, basketball, and swimming. Nature lovers can camp on the areas reserved for that matter. Educational hikes can also be made around the area, guided by experts. There are five water sources that run through the ecological paths, designed to observe life generated by water.
At the entrance, the visitor finds a big sign with the different roads to take, and at the gate you get rules to keep the park in good condition. Few meters ahead are the parking spaces, from where the paths begin. This will be an adventure to remember.
Since not all the people can walk through the cracks on the ground there are two pathways, one for amateur hikers, called Las Ardillas, and one for hiking experts, called Los Armadillos. Walking through the second path is really fun, the vegetation is exuberant, there are logs so feet will not slip, and you can find peace in nature. However, coming back through the pendent requires physical resistance and practicing good breathing.
A visit to the museumLike on every other part of the country, cultural richness is associated with the gifts nature has spilled on the territory. In the museum you can see antique furniture, beds, desks, vaults, and other objects, like a Winchester rifle 22, of 1904, which takes us back to the times when the property benefited from the plantations of corn, coffee, and vegetables, and dairy production. That is why you can also see objects that take us to the old ways of producing richness; industrial machinery brought from the United States, England, and Germany, like wagons, ploughs, and equipment for processing dairy products.
You can also find a domestic public library, which has a collection of newspapers; the Centro America and El Imparcial, from Guatemala, and the Excelsior from Mexico, printed between 1910 and 1940. Because of all that, Florencia offers diverse choices for a different, cultural, and ecological experience.
Recommendations: - Use the correct parking lot. - Throw your trash in any of the bins found in the park. - Never light campfires in the woods. - Do not use the artificial lagoon for swimming. - The ecological games are designed for children under 12.
